Effective July 1, 2013, the Florida Medicaid Minimum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance increased to $1939.00, up from $1891.25. The state issues new figures each July. This means that a person applying for Florida Medicaid benefits for long-term care may divert a portion of his/her own income to the well ("community") spouse if the well spouse's income falls below the Medicaid Monthly Maintenance Needs level.
