My previous post about Honor Flights for Veterans brought an enthusiastic response from Donna True of the Alzheimer's Association, Southeast Florida Chapter. I've known Donna a long time, but I didn't know that she has served as a guardian on two Honor Flights, accompanying veterans to see the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. Donna says she loved every minute, writing: It's incredible to be with the folks who made history! What a group of heroes! Well, Donna, you're a hero, too. I am posting some of Donna's photos from the 2009 trip below, when she accompanied Warren Hartogsohn, an 87-year-old veteran. Donna's scheduled to take her next Honor Flight this coming September. Enjoy (and appreciate) this Independence Day!
