Social Workers turn out for networking, learning event

We had a great group at our 2011 Social Worker/Case Manager Breakfasts last week. Over 100 professionals networked and learned about the latest legal developments that impact their clients and patients. Elder Law Attorneys Genny Bernstein, Adele Harris and I talked about guardianship; pending changes in Florida law for long-term care Medicaid benefits; and why seniors should steer clear of buying annuities that claim to make them eligible for VA benefits or Medicaid benefits.

Three wonderful guest speakers participated in the program, all from MorseLife's Just Checking program: Judy Uzzi, Laura Zel and Megan Bernat. To learn about the free services available in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast from Just Checking, click here.

Deepest appreciation to our wonderful hosts, whose staff generously opened their doors to our group:

*Chatsworth PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, offering assisted living and memory care. Thanks to Dorren Cavigliano and her staff.

*Lake Forest Park in Fort Pierce, offering assisted living, independent living and memory care. Thanks to Mona Guinn-Huff and her staff.

*Homewood Residence in Delray Beach, offering assisted living and memory care. Thanks to Jacky Purje, Anita Meyer and their staff.
