May is Older Americans Month, a tradition that dates back to 1963. That year, only 17 million Americans were 65 or older. By 2008 the number had grown to 38 million - and by 2050 it's projected to reach 71 million! Seniors' growing numbers are matched by their outsized contributions to society, from kick-starting the equal rights movement to reshaping industry, communications and medicine. The theme for this year's Older American's Month is Age Strong! Live Long! and you are invited to share what keeps you strong and keeps you inspired. Submit a story, video or photograph to the US Administration on Aging by April 30, 2010. For submission guidelines, click here.

You have worked hard all your life to build your estate, but you may not be sure of the best way to pass your assets, business and personal property to your loved ones. You may also be facing some of the legal issues that are common to the elderly and their families, and may be complicating the planning process, such as paying for nursing home care while preserving assets for the well spouse.
