Well, you just never know what life holds in store. Or how much, for that matter. Take Gertrude Baines, the world's oldest person, who died today at age 115. Her reported diet of bacon, ice cream and fried chicken apparently agreed with her.
Who could have predicted?
Because life is unpredictable, we must plan for all those "what ifs." What if we become disabled? What's going to happen to our loved ones when we die? And as Baines' dramatic story illustrates, what if we live longer than the charts predict - how will we keep control of our lives? How can we hold onto our assets and financial security?
That's what estate planning is about. It's about creating answers for all those "what ifs." Because when you've got the answers, you can enjoy your years... whether it's 115 years like Baines, or any other amount life provides.
